Add a certificate verification option
...
Perform a set of simple checks on the received certificate, including:
- Certificate and chain verification (with trust store or specific root)
- Subject commonName and Subject Alternative Names matching with request
- OCSP reachability/response check
- OCSP "must-staple" presence, if requested
This is intended to provide some safeguards against a misconfigured or
malicious CA prior to using the certificate, however further work would be
required to make these tests more robust and prevent saving invalid certs
into the certificate path, where they may automatically start being used.
